VOSSEN VFS5
A new staple in the Vossen Hybrid Forged Series, the VFS-5 is a split five-spoke design that employs advanced flow forming technology to produce a lighter and stronger barrel. The result is a perfect blend between the affordability of a cast wheel and the strength and performance of a forged wheel.
FINISHING OPTIONS
SILVER METALLIC
Light in tone with brilliant metallic depth, the VFS-5 is available in Silver Metallic, one of two standard gloss finishes. A machined Vossen VF Series cap blends seamlessly into the VFS-5’s styling and finish.
GLOSS GRAPHITE
Lustrously dark in tone and elegantly revealing its lines, the VFS-5 is available in Gloss Graphite, one of two standard gloss finishes. A machined Vossen VF Series cap blends seamlessly into the VFS-5’s styling and finish.
FLOW FORMING PROCESS
STEP 1
Heat and coating is applied to the flow-forming drum. Cast wheel is mounted on the drum and ready to be formed.
STEP 2
Pressure is applied to the rim barrel. Specially designated hydraulic rollers are used to stretch the wheel by applying pressure to the rim barrel.
STEP 3
The wheels’ properties are compressed and stretched to achieve the desired width.
STEP 4
Stretching results in an improved grain-structure of the aluminum, which makes for a stronger, thinner, and lighter forged-like rim barrel. The final product is more durable on impact and enhances overall vehicle performance.
